Our Story

Sandalanka Agro was founded in 2022 by three close friends—Pradeep Suriyabandara (Director), Dinesh Prasanna (Manager), and Ruwan Balasuriya (CEO)—who share a common vision: to grow healthy, high-quality crops using organic and semi-organic practices. Rooted in friendship and a passion for sustainable agriculture, our journey began as a joint effort to bring meaningful change to Sri Lanka’s farming landscape.

Though we operate in a highly competitive market with thousands of other growers, only a few truly focus on organic cultivation. This is where Sandalanka Agro stands out. We believe that agriculture is not just a business—it’s a lifelong mission. As long as people need food, there will always be a place for high-quality, naturally grown produce.

Our farm is located in the heart of the Kurunegala District, under the Pannala Divisional Secretariat. We currently cultivate our commercial crops on one acre of protected greenhouse land, ensuring optimal growing conditions and minimizing environmental impact. These greenhouses allow us to maintain semi-organic methods year-round, even when others rely on open-field techniques.

In recognition of our commitment to safety and sustainability, we proudly obtained the Sri Lanka Good Agricultural Practices (SL GAP) certification in 2023. We plan to extend this certification across all areas of our farm as we continue to grow.

With a solid foundation in both practical experience and theoretical knowledge, our team has a deep understanding of crop management and disease prevention. To further strengthen our approach, we also seek guidance from seasoned agricultural experts, including our trusted advisor, Mr. Nandasena, a retired officer from the Department of Agriculture.

At Sandalanka Agro, we are not just growing crops—we are growing a legacy rooted in health, sustainability, and trust.
